Factors Affecting Transient Stability Simulation Possibilities in PSCAD and MODES
The paper deals with factors affecting transient stability. Basic factors affecting transient stability regarding the system parameters and their influence are described. Comparison of simulation possibilities of two pieces of software, PSCAD and MODES, is done for defined factors (machine type, AVR, PSS, fast valving, resistance). Simulations results obtained using dynamic models built in PSCAD and MODES are discussed and compared regarding different factors.
