Multi-stage depressed collectors (MDCs) are used to enhance the efficiency of the TWT. The performance of the MDC is highly dependent on the right selection of materials for its electrodes and insulators. Basis for selection is determined by several factors like: (i) electrical, (ii) thermal, (iii) structural, and (iv) weight.
