A case study in performance, modifiability and extensibility analysis of a telecommunication system software architecture

We present a case study in architecture analysis. The analysis was conducted on a real system, the Ericsson product "GSM On the Net", in order to evaluate two alternative software architectures with respect to a set of attributes required by the customer namely extensibility, performance and modifiability.
