An Overview of Cloud-Based Electric Vehicle Safety Service Platform Functions and A Case Study
A cloud-based safety platform for electric vehicles (EVs) could contribute more customized services for users by collaborating with on-board battery management system (BMS). This paper presents a cloud-based EV monitoring and service system, which includes the internet of devices (IoD) and cloud platform. The IoD in this paper includes the EV terminals, charging piles terminals, smartphones, etc., which collect and upload data from EVs and users. With the data collated from the terminals, the cloud platform could perform battery health and safety analysis with historical data, and help to improve the safety of the EVs. This paper discusses the services that the cloud platform can provide in each scenario, and cataloged the potential safety service into several groups. The feasibility of the proposed platform architecture was verified by using cloud data and Entropy algorithm to analyze accident vehicles, and the results show that the cloud-based EV monitoring and safety service platform can provide fault diagnosis and early warning for EV in the cloud.
