„O! Czemuż nie jesteś mi równą!”. O mezaliansie w literaturze polskiego oświecenia

The article focuses on the role and function of the mesalliance motif in the Polish Enlightenment literature. At the beginning, the article explains the concept of misalliance and outlines the historical context, with particular emphasis on the situation of women in Poland of that time. Then the focus turned to the analysis of selected texts in the context of questioning authority and negating the prevailing social norms. As a result, it was illustrated how the image of misalliance changed from the second half of the 18th century to the first decade of the 19th century.
