L’inconscient patriarcal d’Alejo Carpentier dans La consagración de la primavera

How can we explain that Carpentier, a progressive and even revolutionary author, so clearly reproduces a patriarchal logic in La consagracion de la primavera ?  Guided among others by Beauvoir and Bourdieu, the study of the text indeed shows that it is shot through by the patriarchal ideology in the distribution of the roles and the characteristics of the various characters. Schematically, at an emotional level, the male character is seductive and unfaithful, and the female character attractive and faithful. In politics, the male reasons, teaches and fights, and the female sentimentalizes, learns and flees. In art, the male thinks and builds, the female feels and enjoys herself. To explain the presence of this patriarchal logic in a pen otherwise so committed to social progress, my hypothesis is that it is not the author who expresses himself on this aspect, but his ideological unconscious, as defined by Juan Carlos Rodriguez, meaning the common ideas of a society.
