DE-PSO, a Hybrid technique is being employed to tune governor controller gains. The considered disturbance is the step change in mechanical input power. Different case studies have been presented on ITAE based objective function. It has been observed that auxiliary POD can increase the performance of governor. With proposed optimal POD and governor controller setting of parameters the oscillations are damped heavily. The effect of control action has been justified with eigen value analysis and damping parameters obtained with different cases.
