A small company in Brisbane working on MIMO radar systems was acquired by Teledyne Inc in Sept 2009. Continued support has allowed the development of several concept demonstrators where MIMO offers a distinct advantage. We describe two of these: a stand-off body scanner, capable of imaging and screening people whilst walking; and a Multi-Beam Radar Altimeter which captures the topography of the ground beneath a landing helicopter. The basic principles and schematics of these radars are presented together with experimental results and a summary of our experience with these radars using the MIMO technique.
