Regular intake of polyphenols from food and beverages showsantioxidant, anticarcinogenic, antimutagenic, antitumor, antiobesogenic, antimicrobial, neuroprotective,and cardioprotective effects. At the same time, polyphenols have a high potential for the prevention of agerelated dermatological problems, and therefore further studies on dietary polyphenols are important to betterunderstand these protective effects.
