In this study, from Empire to Republic of Turkey's modernization process, in the fields of reflection on architecture and urbanism is explored through the Ankara post office building in Ulus. Aim: The change and transformation of the post office buildings built in Ulus is handled from a holistic perspective without ignoring the multi-layered, changing and diversifying plural identities of the historical environment. Method: Based on literature and archive scanning, city plans, photographs and postcards are used as urban memory tools. These inventories allow visual, spatial and relational analysis to be made in defining the three post office buildings and their surroundings. Results: With this approach, which is discussed in the study, the breaking points that define the change and transformation processes of the post office buildings have been determined. The effects of the intangible and tangible qualities of the post office buildings and their surroundings on the spatial identity of the historical environment were determined. Conclusion: In the study, it has been observed that the structural losses experienced due to integrity negatively affect the continuity of the historical environment.
