Optical channel performance monitoring using coherent detection
We demonstrate a multi-functional optical system performance monitor using coherent heterodyne detection. In addition to performing high-resolution optical spectrum analyzing, the system is capable of monitoring chromatic dispersion and PMD at each wavelength channel.
