With the staggering quantities of non-linear loads introduced in to the electrical system, it has become a necessity to establish criteria for limiting problems of system voltage degradation. This paper deals with the modelling of a D-STATCOM for mitigation of power quality (PQ) problems in distribution line produced by non-linear and unbalanced loads. With the depletion of fossil fuel, Renewable Energy Sources have opened the new era of eco-friendly power generation. A PV cell is employed as the source of energy for the DSTATCOM.
