In recent years, some research efforts have been focusing on how to efficaciously reclaim more of the heat energy during the aluminum reduction process. In this study, we propose a new aluminum reduction cell structure with a lava thermo-exchanger. Three-dimensional thermal field analysis was carried out on the novel aluminum reduction cell with the lava thermo-exchanger.
