Developing country like India is facing many challenges in improving the quality of life of the people. The increasing population, particularly in cities results in economical imbalance. Also, urbanization is the main cause of climate change and related ill effects. We can mitigate these issues by focusing more on the development of the villages. Most of the issues will be solved if the villages are self-sustained in terms of the standard of living, access to resources like health care, technology, electricity, water, agriculture etc. The concept of smart villages can improve the quality of life of the villagers and in turn will create positive impact on the nation's growth. In this paper, we proposed a smart village model for the group of villages in Bargur firca of Tamilnadu, India. Based on the detailed study of the demographical conditions of the eighteen villages and their standard of living, we suggested solutions to their problems for different domains needing attention.
