Application of numerical methods for stress and strain analysis of underground mining spaces

The paper deals with the application of numerical modeling, ie the problem of application of numerical methods with respect to the geometry of underground spaces, characteristics of the geological deposits and the conditions in which the underground mining spaces are located. Special attention is given to the diversity of rock mass behavior in relation to the different geometry of underground spaces, structural features of the geological deposits and the different stress conditions in which the underground spaces are located. As an example of carried out numerical calculations, the solutions for the state of stress and strain of underground spaces of the quarry of dimension stone on the exploitation field “Kanfanar-jug” are presented.
