在过去的二十年里，有很多成功的美国电视喜剧在中国取得了巨大的成功。除了互联网技术的发展及其在普通人中的普及和便利外，电视喜剧中的言语语言对跨文化交际的成功也有重要的贡献。因此，本文致力于分析两种不同文化，即高语境文化和低语境文化中笑点的差异。根据霍尔的语境理论，从跨文化交际中的言语语言角度，选取中国电视喜剧《我爱我家》和美国电视喜剧《了不起的麦塞尔》为例进行比较。
