Evaluation of Body Positions for Heart Rate Measurement Using Remote Photoplethysmography: Towards a Mobile System for Vital Signs Detection in Unconscious People
: Aiming to monitor the vital signs of unconscious people remotely, this paper proposes to evaluate the feasibility of heart rate measurements done with the subject lying down with its body in three different positions. The results demonstrated that it is possible to obtain reliable heart rate values in these conditions. The average RMSE of the measurements was around 3 bpm compared to the gold standard. Future work aims to develop and evaluate an application for mobile devices.
