Analysis and design of UWB elliptical slot antennas
In this paper, three different elliptical slot ultrawideband (UWB) antennas are presented. These antennas are proposed and designed with a standard printed circuit board (PCB) process to be suitable for integration with radio-frequency/microwave circuitry. The first design is composed of half circular ring radiator element while the other design uses half elliptical ring shaped radiator. The shape of the radiator is crescent shaped for the third design. The calculated impedance bandwidth of proposed antenna designs ranges from 2.5GHz to beyond 14GHz for reflection coefficient (S11) less than −10dB. Also, all designs have relatively stable radiation patterns over their whole frequency band of interest.
