Although several materials have been explored for this function, the shielding of strong EMP generated by the laser-plasma interaction at the high-power laser facility has rarely been investigated. In this paper, copper, permalloy, and a phase transition oxide (vanadi-um dioxide, VO2) are tested for shielding the EMP at ShenGuang III laser facility (SGIII, the largest high-power laser facility in China). The results show that copper and permalloy exhibit high-efficient shielding of EMP. And VO2(R) with the higher conductivity shows better shielding property than VO2(M).
