Analysis of the use of shipping containers in housing construction in the contextof the circular economy. Part I

The paper presents the issue of the use of waste in theconstruction industry using the example of transportation conteners.It is at the heart of reverse logistics and the circular economy.The analysis and evaluation of the use of shipping containersfor the construction of buildings was made on the exampleof the authors design of a single-family house from shipping containersin comparison with a building with traditional technology.The results of Ecopoint index calculations, for both technologies,were presented, indicating the impact of material solutionson the environment. The evaluation of technologies was carriedout using multi-criteria analysis, and a SWOT matrix. Accordingto WT2021, container technology can be successfully applied. However,the decision depends on the needs of the investor withthe predominance of the desirability of using container technologyfor public and commercial buildings
