Theoretical Basis of Entropy in Determining the Homogeneity of the Composite Material Used in the Agro- Industrial Sector
Typically, a composite material based on butyl rubber with a different electroconductive layer is used for heaters. Carbon black is considered as an example of electroconductive layer in the article. The determination of the homogeneity of carbon black in the distribution of butyl rubber is still an actual task. The uniformity of temperature on the surface of the composite heater depends directly on the uniformity of carbon black, the higher the homogeneity of carbon, the lower the resistivity of the material. The authors developed an information-entropy method that is based on the theory of probability and the concept of entropy to determine the homogeneity of the material. This study clearly demonstrates that the use of the information-entropy interval is more expedient for estimating the homogeneity (carbon black) in a composite material, since it has higher informativeness, mathematically justified, easy to use and universal (can be used for any distribution law).
