Optimization of Shale Oil Development Based on a Two-zone Economic Model
A two-zone model of shale oil production is built. The task is to optimize the ratio of the horizontal wellbore length to the reserves of the zone directly affected by hydraulic fracturing (the intensive production zone). The oil crossflow from the reservoir's far zone to the one adjacent to the well is taken into account. The NPV economic optimization criterion is used. A numerical example is provided.
