Usually, a wheelchair is operated with the help of another person. There have been advancements in this field as there are wheelchairs that can be controlled using a remote control, voice control, and head gestures. This project deals with making an automatic wheelchair that can be controlled using hand gestures. The system input is taken via the camera. The camera records the hand gesture and based on the gesture the raspberry pi operates the wheelchair. The main components that will be using for the implementation of this project are raspberry pi, a webcam to take the input, a relay driver to drive the wheelchair, a keyboard, and a power supply. In this project, basic commands such as front, back, left, stop and rotate are implemented.
