First, the motor parameter is derived by PM analyzing torque and back-EMF using the 3-D FEA taking account magnetization of PM. Next, the step response characteristic of a PM type motor is calculated by equivalent model. Finally, we present a test method of step response using position sensitive detection (PSD) sensor.
