Simulation Application for Improving the Efficiency of New Distribution Centers
Simulation techniques are widely used for improving the capability of the system processes and identifying the system efficiency. In this research, the product distribution systems were developed for new Distribution Centers (DCs) where always confront with no historical data and no experience of implementations, and the utilization of the exponential distribution and the triangular distribution simulation techniques were used to simulate these developed systems in order to improve their capability. From the experiment, the bottleneck problem was elaborately reflected in each module of the developed systems. We proposed the scenario to improve the system capability associated with increasing the unknown arrival products volume into the systems and adjusting the values of the simulation functions. Finally, simulating the developed systems can be contributed to the capability improvement of the systems of the new DCs and proposed the better capability of the systems.
