A distributed network management system with multi-level domain approach
This paper presents an architecture of a distributed network management system which provides a means to manage a communication network for distributed systems. The multi-level domain approach has been adopted for efficient management. This scheme makes it easy to manage a very large communication network. We have introduced the object view interface (OVI) to support the overlapped domain management. The domain interface protocol (DIP) has been defined for the distributed management scheme. The integration of different networks which have different network management scheme can be achieved with the distributed network management system. We have almost finished the implementation of the system and are in the design stage of next version including group communication facility.<>
