Materials and Methods: This is a study with a qualitative approach. Data collection was performed in different services of Porto Alegre in 2012. The population comprised seven nurses and 14 nursing technicians, who work in health care units that were also the field of practice for a Multi-professional Residency Program in Family and Community Health. For the data collection, a semi-structured interview was conducted. The interviews were previously scheduled according to the availability of the individual professionals, with an average duration of 20 minutes. Results: Integrality in the care of skin lesions were organized around two categories: (1) integrality – knowledge versus distancing; (2) comprehensive care for users with skin lesions – from theory to practice.
