The topic of approaches to this problem in modern pedagogy, primarily in the framework of higher education, is considered. In addition, contradictions in contemporary higher education regarding fitness are revealed. The authors proceed from the fact that the study of the theoretical aspects of training professional fitness trainers in higher education will not only help solve the problem of students' interest in physical education and sports but will also allow a more comprehensive approach to the practical implementation of state programs of the Russian Federation to preserve the health of the nation. It is proved that a complex of closely related factors impacts the pedagogical conditions of training future trainer-teachers.
