In this paper, we aim to integrate the Internet of things and middleware technology together to effectively monitor laboratory environment. Currently, IoT related researches can be classified to three directions: such as Internet-oriented, things-oriented, and semantic-oriented. Afterwards, the structure of the IoT middleware for laboratory environmental monitoring is provided, which contains: Information gateway, Security component, Routing component, Message queue, and so on.
