De-noising algorithm for digital oscilloscope based on wavelet packet
Digital oscilloscope plays a vital role in almost every field of measurement. However, the performance of the measurement is limited by noise, such as the front-end analog conditioning circuit thermal noise, quantization noise in ADC, etc. Therefore, efficient de-noising algorithm is needed to avoid substantial SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) reduction of the digital oscilloscope. In this paper, we present a digital post-processing techniques to reduce noise for digital oscilloscope based on wavelet packet theory. Compared with direct modification in analog circuit design, no change is needed on the analog part of the proposed method, which is more efficient and economical. The effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method has been validated with simulations and measurements from a digital oscilloscope.
