Being a doctor can be a challenging process, but being a black, female doctor is even more challenging. Although it is hard, it is never impossible. Therefore, I wrote a poem called “Curtain” to encourage anyone who has ever struggled with their career goals because of discrimination due to their ethnicity, faith, gender, or socioeconomic status, as well as any other experiences that may have occurred. This is dedicated to you. You are seen. You are loved.
