For the use of mathematical model an algorithm was created and implemented in Matlab environment. The model was developed, based on combination of nonlinear partial differential equations representing a quasistationary electromagnetic field. In the case of the contact system, the problem was considered in a two-dimensional space, with actual structure of the whole contact taken into account. The principle aim of conducting the examinations is the suggestion of the set of contacts construction that makes it possible to get the decay of electromagnetic field increasing the working life of the set of contacts.
