Currently Z-source Inverter (ZSI) are in application. The ZSI due to their limitations need to be improved. In this paper Switched Boost Inverter (SBI) is proposed with modified PWM technique. SBI produces an output (both ac and dc) which can be either more or less than dc input voltage. In order to boost the voltage shoot-through state of inverter leg switches is allowed in this converter. In proposed SBI for solar application MPPT is also applied and fuzzy controller is applied to regulate output voltage.
