Cost-benefit Analysis of Cooperative Spectrum Sensing Under Detection Delay Constraint for CUAVNs
In order to meet the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)’ spectrum demand, cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) helps in identifying the unused spectrum in cognitive UAV networks (CUAVNs). However, the location flexibility of the flying UAV makes inter-frame CSS among multiple spectrum sensing nodes inefficient, specifically the CSS performance cannot be guaranteed under the detection delay constraint. In this paper, we formulate an intra-frame CSS to undertake cooperation between multiple mini-slots. Moreover, considering the interference control of the primary network and the spectrum requirements of UAVs, we are motivated by the sequential detection to make an in-depth analysis on the cost and benefit of the intra-frame CSS under the detection delay constraint. Furthermore, we formulate and verify the utility function based on the cost and benefit. Simulation results corroborate our theoretical analyses on the intra-frame CSS under the detection delay constraint, and verify the correctness and effectiveness of the cost and benefit for UAVs. Comparing to the traditional inter-frame CSS among multiple UAV sensing nodes, numerical results are also presented the superiority of our proposal with respect to the performance and utility.
