Innovative Hörunterstützung in Kommunikationssystemen
Despite technological advances acoustic quality in modern communication systems is still not perfect in many situations. Both external factors, e.g. background noise or poor acoustics as well as personal factors such as individual hearing loss can considerably impede acoustic communication. In the light of the demographic change which on average leads to older and therefore to an increased number of hearing impaired employees, and the increasing importance of acoustic communication at office working places, innovative solutions are required. They range from strategies for reducing acoustic distrubances and the use of hearing models to monitor communication quality to compensation techniques for individual hearing impairments.
