Securing Natural Gas to the EU from the Caspian Sea Region: Between Markets and Geopolitics
This paper analyses the current problems related to security of natural gas supply in the EU. Analysing the Nabucco pipeline, it argues that the EU is balancing between a market and a geopolitical approach to energy security. For this reason, the EU is not capable of securing a sufficient amount of gas from producer states, particularly in the Caspian Sea region.
