Experimental results from commercially available ac drives show an inability to adequately compensate for low line conditions. The paper examines the adverse effects of bus disturbances on current regulated ac inverters. The paper shows that the problems are the result of the reduction in the gain of the PWM inverter. A compensated modulation technique is developed and is applied to the voltage and current regulated PWM inverters.
