The OSI model is applied to this structure for functional expansion of the system. The layer-three part is fundamentally based on the I-interface of the ISDN. There is a special part for the mobile communications system which emphasizes radio frequency efficiency. A technique to reduce the number of signals and the transmission volume is described.
