Space Vector Control Technique for grid-tied three-level NPC inverter fed by Photovoltaic System
In photovoltaic (PV) applications, multilevel inverters are becoming increasingly attractive for researchers and industry in grid-connected installations due to their outstanding advantages compared to conventional inverters. In this paper, a three-phase grid-connected photovoltaic power generation system is presented that implements a neutral-point (NPC) inverter. The first part describes the design and modeling of the incremental conductance tracker to track the PV system's maximal power and maintain the output DC voltage within the desired limits. The second part focuses on the space vector modulation (SVM) used to control the three-level neutral point inverter. The NPC three-level inverter is connected to the grid by the means of an LCL filter using the DQ control method. This study aims to assess the performance injected into the grid and verify the performance of the adopted this using MATLAB Simulink environment.
