This paper provides an overview of how the Army Air Defense community is applying the software system safety guidance and techniques to an Air and Missile Defense system. The Patriot Air and Missile Defense (AMD) system is used for the case study. The case study illustrates the process and demonstrate safety analysis effectiveness.
