Six markets, made up of three from each local governmnet were selected because of their high population of plantain marketers and their approximate equal sizes. Data were collected with a well structured questionnaire administered to sixty randomly selected plantain marketers from the six markets . Personal interview, observation method and weighing of plantain were also carried out. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, deviation, correlation coefficient and t- test.
