In this paper, IoT is used to aided hydropower system to promote the standardization of hydropower network communication and realize the efficient transmission of data models. First, we design an architecture of the hydropower aided by loT, which can implement the messages exchanges among the cloud, the edge and the end. Second, we design the communication methods with Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) and OPC unified Architecture (OPC-VA), where the cloud and edge communicate with MQTT and the edge and the end communicate with OPC-VA, Third, we build an experimental environment platform, Plug and play is taken as an example to verify the effectiveness.
