THE INFLUENCE OF ASUH PARENT PATTERNS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN'S EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

This research was conducted to find out how the influence of parenting parenting to the development of emotional intelligence (EQ) of children in the area of RW III of Tanjung Saba Village Pitameh Lubuk Begalung Subdistrict, Padang West Sumatra. Patterns that will be seen from four patterns namely Democratic, Authoritarian, Permissive, and Neglect, is one of the contributors to the development of this emotional intelligence. From the result of the research, it is found that the pattern of democratic parenting has a positive and significant influence on the development of children's emotional intelligence and has the most dominant influence among the other three variables, authoritarian parenting has a positive but insignificant effect on the development of children's emotional intelligence, permissive parenting the positive but insignificant effect on the development of children's emotional intelligence, neglect of neglect has negative but insignificant effect on the development of children's emotional intelligence.
