We propose a Web-based XML modelling language called RT-XML, which is capable of expressing the manipulation of distributed real-time multimedia objects. The real-time statements of RT-XML are added to a subclass of XML. RT-XML includes time constraint, scheduling, probabilistic behaviour and qualitative description of multimedia streams.
