Study on measurement system for low-level emission from receiving system for satellite broadcasting
In Japan, ultra-high-deflnition television (UHDTV) satellite broadcasting will be launched in the 12-GHz band in 2018. An intermediate frequency (IF) band of 1.0 to 3.2 GHz is used in the receiving systems for 12-GHz-band satellite broadcasting. In view of frequency sharing with other services that use the same frequency band, it is important to suppress emission of radio waves that leak from the components of receiving systems. However, it is difficult to measure the low-level emission power of leaked radio waves that are wideband-modulated. In this paper, we propose a system for measuring low-level and wide-band modulated power by using direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and a correlation between a receiving signal and a leaked radio wave. From the results of evaluating our proposed system, it is shown that the accuracy of the estimated arrival angle and the measured power were less than 0.3 degrees and 1.8 dB, respectively.
