Image quality is severely degraded due to the shooting environment, acquisition equipment and weather changes. This paper presents an image enhancement algorithm for night image by adjusting the background data of the value component (V) in HSV space. We firstly obtain background image from V, then increase the dynamic range of the background image by segmentation optimization transfer function. Subsequently, the optimized background image pixel value is divided by the pixel value before optimization to obtain the enhancement coefficient. Finally, we can restore the enhancement V from enhanced background image.
