The islands of Bangladesh are yet to connect with the national grid, key requirements to install CSP based power plant in Sandwip Island is investigated in this paper. After analyzing environmental conditions, economic prospect and demand data, a 20 megawatt parabolic trough CSP plant for the island is proposed through this research. The System Advisor Model (SAM) is used to prepare the simulation model. The simulation is conducted based on real environmental conditions of Sandwip Island. Simulation results indicate that the generated power is sufficient to supply the entire island.
