Dostoevsky’s short story Bobok from the point of view of the embodiment and action of the infernal principle in it. It is shown that the infernal principle plays a structure-forming role in the artistic reality of Bobok , being, in fact, its ontological basis. The article esablishes the relashions between Bobok and Plato’s dialogue Symposium . It is discussed also the phenomenon of infernality in Dostoevsky’s novel The Brothers Karamazovs and its traces in Michail A.
