IOT based Automated Quality Assessment for Fruits and Vegetables using Infrared
In this paper we have presented a device which is used for the quality assessment for fruits and vegetables using an IoT device that would be built using sensor such as Infrared Camera, Arduino Processor and Wifi module. This device can accurately predict the ripening of fruits and vegetables without the need of them being plucked from the farm. This monitoring can be done when fruits and vegetables are still connected to the plants and are in their growing phase. This model can reduce the wastage of food in large extent as a major content of these fruits and vegetables in the market is not completely ripped or in the early stages of rotting. Therefore this model uses infrared imaging to get the heat index of fruits and vegetables and those heat indexes are compared to the heat index of ripen fruits and vegetables. If the readings after comparison are not close to each other it would indicate that the fruits and vegetables are not yet ripped or in the early stages of getting rotten.
