THE LACK OF DEMAND FOR THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS IN THE INTERNATIONAL REALITIES OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR: THE QUESTION OF THE PREREQUISITES FOR THE CREATION OF UNRRA

The collective security system created after the First World War suffered a complete disaster after two decades. The League of Nations, created during the Paris Peace Conference, did not justify the hopes placed on it by the world community; it was unable to save the world from the outbreak of a new world war. Germany, Japan and Italy, having withdrawn from the League of Nations, freed their hands for an aggressive foreign policy. There was no effective mechanism for preventing this aggression in the interwar period. Thus, the United States was influenced by the idea of isolationism, the policies of France and England were inconsistent, the Soviet Union tried to create an alliance with France and England and at the same time was looking for an opportunity to negotiate with Nazi Germany. The value of the principles of international law fell, most of the signed international treaties were not adhered to [3, 56].
